Studying Abroad in Scotland & Ireland
When I decided I wanted to go on this study abroad it was last minute. Scotland and Ireland was on my travel bucket list so I started getting everything together in a short amount of time. It was my first time going out of the country and I wasn’t nervous at all. The couple of weeks leading up to the trip was super exciting and before I knew it, I was packing to leave for the Atlanta airport. I actually believe those 11 days were some of the best days of my life.
From trying new things, walking miles through the cities and country sides, and meeting some of the best people to have late nights and free time with, to seeing breathtaking scenery in the Highlands, and learning so many new things, my travel experience was the best experience I could have asked for.
The days were filled with exploring new places while learning the history of the cities. The nights were filled with laughter and wicked drinks, even some pretty good authentic food. Even though we were 3,000 miles from home I was never homesick, the new friends made it feel like home. The different personalities of us worked really well together in keeping us all feeling as one. Everyone got a long with each other and no one was ever left out. I can gladly say that I made friends for a life time. The memories from this trip will last forever and it has a major impact on my life.
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all”
-Helen Keller
My travel experience is one I will never forget, and I am grateful that I was able to go on this study abroad trip. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to travel with along with. I’m hoping to make it back to the UK at some point in my lifetime.
